The group’s vocalist and drummer started Low with Alan Sparhawk in 1993. Parker and husband Alan Sparhawk were the constant, essential elements of Low’s magic throughout the band’s entire run. They gained an early reputation for slow, meditative songs, but continued to evolve creatively.

Carter had his first hit when he was just 9 years old. He went on to tour with his older brother's band, the Backstreet Boys, release four studio albums and appear on Dancing with the Stars.
