Minneapolis singer-songwriter Annie Mack visited The Current studio to record a session for The Local Show in preparation for her EP release show on March 9th.

Touring in support of his 2017 album, 'Half Light,' Rostam, along with his touring string quartet and percussionist, visited The Current studio to chat with Oake & Riley and to perform songs from his album, as well as a cover of a beloved tune by Nick Drake.

On Jan. 16, a select group of The Current's listeners were treated to a #MicroShow with Tune-Yards, who performed at the Turf Club (capacity 350) in St. Paul. The set list includes five songs from Tune-Yards' latest album, 'I Can Feel You Creep Into My Private Life,' plus a favorite off 2014's 'Nikki Nack.'

With head-banging, strobe lights, and electric guitar solos, First Aid Kit brought a new energy to the Palace Theatre on January 30.

'Castles,' the new album from Lissie, releases March 23, 2018. In between shows at Icehouse in Minneapolis, Lissie and her band stopped at The Current to perform a couple tracks from the forthcoming album, as well as a hit from Lissie's 2016 release, 'My Wild West.'

In the Twin Cities for a show at the Fine Line Music Cafe, Destroyer stopped at The Current to play some songs from their two most recent albums.

The set list includes a number of songs from Spoon's latest album, 'Hot Thoughts,' as well as selections from 2014's 'They Want My Soul' and 2005's 'Gimme Fiction.'

Performing a MicroShow in Minneapolis carried with it a bit of history for the legendary New Orleans jazz outfit. 'The first time that the Preservation Hall Jazz Band ever played a show outside of New Orleans was here in Minneapolis in 1963,' bandleader and bassist Ben Jaffe told the audience before the group launched into a grooving, journeying three-number set.
