After a 24-year hiatus, the Dream Syndicate reunited in 2012 and realized they sounded like a new band. 'We were enjoying it and we figured, well, rather than keep playing the oldies circuit, let's make a new record,' says front man Steve Wynn. The resulting record is 'How Did I Find Myself Here?', and the Dream Syndicate recently found themselves in The Current studio for a session hosted by Jim McGuinn.

The Rural Alberta Advantage wrapped up a massive tour with a show at First Avenue in Minneapolis, followed by a visit to Oake and Riley in the Morning before jetting back to Toronto. 'We always enjoy coming back to Minneapolis,' says front man Nils Edenloff. 'It was really good. It was probably the best way to kind of end our U.S. tour.' Fresh off a lively show the night before at the 7th Street Entry, Alex Lahey came in early Sunday morning to The Current, where she and her bandmates turned out a rocking performance of tracks from her debut full-length album, 'I Love You Like a Brother.' Of the title track, Lahey says, 'I decided to pick three chords and pretend I was in the Ramones and give it a go!'

On Thursday, Nov. 16, The Current aired the live the broadcast of Wilco in concert, on the radio and with a live video stream.

Jessica Lea Mayfield's new album, 'Sorry Is Gone', seems to have arrived at just the right time. As news headlines are filled with more and more people coming forward with accounts of abuse and harassment, Mayfield's new album is an empowering body of work. 'I feel like the more people that speak up, the better, especially when you're speaking up for yourself,' Mayfield says. Although Lukas Nelson grew up on the tour bus of his legendary father, Willie, the 28-year-old singer never felt it was expected of him to carry on the family legacy. That said, Lukas fell into the family business and now tours with his own band, Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real. Lukas Nelson recently brought his acoustic guitar into our studio to play a couple tunes and talk about the self-titled album from him and his band.

On tour in support of their new album, 'Losing,' Bully stopped at The Current studio for a session hosted by Mac Wilson, where they rocked three songs from the new release.
