With their latest album 'The Navigator,' Hurray for the Riff Raff look to the past and present to speak about the future. 'There's so much about turning 30 that I think did that to me,' says frontperson Alynda Segarra. 'I'm like, I'm inheriting the Earth and the way it is right now, and what do I want to do with what I've learned from my experience to make it better?'

'Heavy Meta,' the 2017 album by Ron Gallo, includes many styles and sounds, eluding simple musical categorization. You can't really sign up to be a genre or a style when you start making music,' Gallo says. In town for a show at the Fine Line in Minneapolis with Hurray for the Riff Raff, Ron Gallo and his band stopped at The Current studios and shook the house with some outsized jams and rocking tunes.
